My Dry Room Problem

Two different extremes of humidity always exist in the rooms of my house. Some days, it does feel sticky which is mostly during really humid days outside in the summer. On the other hand, winter is completely the opposite. It is almost always dry and I am always getting chapped lips. I have always known about dehumidifiers and their purpose. Mainly to remove moisture in the air, and even use them in rooms where the laundry is hang dried. I find it removes the humidity and dries everything faster. Anyways, for the solution to my dry air problems I've been pointed to the warm mist humidifiers section of my local hardware store.

The basic premise is that it blows out a mist of steam in the air which basically adds moisture. It almost produces steam that you will similarly find in a sauna or steam room, but obviously in a smaller amount. This is the main reason that some store workers will also call these humidifiers as a steam vaporizer. These two terms really can be interchanged as the person you are describing it will likely know either way what you are looking for. I then had my solution and needed to test it out to see if it solves the problem.

Prior to making my final purchase, I was told that the best room humidifier will depend on the size of my room and what types of features I am looking for. On the market, you will be able to locate humidifiers in the one or two gallon range. My room was pretty small so the one gallon was plenty enough. The other feature for the warm mist one I ended up buying is that it had an auto shutoff capability. What this means is I can set my ideal humidity levels and it will automatically control everything after that.

I brought it home and tested out the different levels, including the ideals mentioned in the manuals. A week or so later of using it at different levels, I found the moisture levels in my room to be much better. The humidifier did its job and the room was not dry anymore.
